Summer Business Sales

It's holiday time again! Enquiries from people looking to buy a business in Yorkshire and surrounding areas are still plentiful but as in previous years, there are not as many businesses coming to the market as at other times of the year.

Business sales on the other hand are holding up very well indeed, in spite of the difficulties the media continue to promote - we are hopeful that the economy will strenghten and the banks make loans more accessible for the many prospective purchasers who have their eye on one of the many businesses which we have for sale, particularly now that they are back on track and making huge profits again.

Businesses out perform the economic conditions.

Here at Ernest Wilson we are still taking lots of instructions from people looking to sell their businesses and most of these businesses are performing well - in spite of the "economic conditions" that the press keep informing us all about.

Yorkshire is not isolated from the effects of those conditions but we are pleased to see that there are plenty of good businesses for sale in Yorkshire and other areas of the North of England.

Larger business sales set to start moving?

Our new coalition Government is setting about sorting our Nation's debt problems and looking for ways to stimulate our economy - Best of luck.

There are signs that the housing market is starting to move, albeit very slowly; this will greatly assist business sales for Ernest Wilson and in particular the sales of larger businesses with properties. The reason for this is because we have lots of potential purchaser wanting to buy a business but who have not yet found a buyer for their house and this is preventing them from proceeding with their proposed purchase of a business and property.

A good example of this is a fabulous guest house for sale in West Yorkshire which we have agreed, subject to contract. The purchasers have now sold their house and are in fact being pushed to completion by their purchasers. Solicitors inform us that the sale of the guest house should complete in August.

If you are looking buy a business and property, now may well be a good time to start as there are still plenty of bargains out there but as the market continues to pick up, prices are surely set to rise.

Expanding the sales team

In spite of 'the recession' we,here at Ernest Wilson, are achieving good sales figures and generating lots of enquiries - so many, in fact, that we are employing more sales staff. I am pleased to welome Sarah Venamore to the team who has been with us for a couple of weeks and is proving to be a real asset to the team. We are already interviewing for at least one more person to help us to sell even more businesses.

Away Day

Our recent management 'Away Day'went reallywell.Lots of good ideas and action plans which,I am confident,will improve the performance of Ernest Wilson Business Sales and lead to an expansion of our market share in Yorkshire and beyond.

Please send photo of the pub!"
